Text messages from Green Mountain Energy - Terms and Conditions

Call us at 866-785-4668 and provide the call center agent your mobile number. A triggered text message will be sent to your mobile device. Be sure to reply "YES" to 73639 within two hours of receiving it to subscribe. The call center agent can also help you select which particular text alerts you want to receive. 

 

You can also opt-in through your online account. Once logged in, choose "I want to manage my profile" from the dropdown menu, then "Alerts & Contact Preferences." From here you can choose which text alerts you want to receive. 

You can stop receiving text messages at any time by going to the Contact Preferences page and unchecking the box(es) next to the alert(s) you want to discontinue. Or, you can text STOP to 73639 from your mobile device to be unsubscribed from all Green Mountain Energy text messages sent to that phone number.

 

You can also speak with a call center agent at 866-785-4668. Tell them you want to opt out of text messages or ask them to remove the cell phone number from your account. Once you have opted out, you will receive a text message from Green Mountain Energy Alerts confirming that you are opted out.

 

Furthermore, your mobile device will be automatically opted out on the due date of your FINAL invoice. You will receive a text message from Green Mountain Energy Alerts confirming that you are opted out.

Green Mountain Energy Alerts are alerts you can receive via text message. They contain information about your account, your bill, your electricity usage or other details. Some alerts can be sent to you automatically, and you can request other alerts on demand, as you need them.

 

Green Mountain Energy Alerts options are available on the Alerts and Contact Preferences page. The types of alerts available are slightly different for prepaid plan customers.

The number and frequency of text messages will vary based on the programs and selections for which you opted in. Some messages are received on demand by texting keywords to 73639. Others can be set up to occur periodically. Green Mountain Energy will not send any text messages you did not opt in to receive.

Currently, text messages are only available to subscribers with United States phone numbers.

Green Mountain Energy does not charge a fee for text messages, but message and data rates may apply. Depending on your text plan, you may be charged by your wireless carrier.

  • HELP — for resources to answer questions about your account 
  • STOP — to stop receiving all text messages from Green Mountain Energy; this will have no other effect on your account
