At Green Mountain Energy, we understand that a person’s financial situation can change at a moment's notice. Because we care about our customers, we want to provide you with options to pay your energy bill if you are struggling financially.

You may be able to get support from the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, a government organization that provides financial assistance to aid with energy costs.

To find out if you qualify, call 2-1-1 or visit 211texas.org to learn about community assistance programs in your area. If you go to the website, enter “Electric Bill Assistance” in the search field along with your ZIP code to search for local programs.
Keep in mind that it could take up to 8 weeks to receive financial assistance. Please note that assistance is given at the discretion of local agencies to eligible customers and not administered by 2-1-1 directly.
You may qualify for a payment extension or be eligible for a deferred payment plan, which will help you pay your past-due balance in installments.
