Project overview

The Elmwood Park Zoo hosts nearly a million visitors each year onsite, with an additional 300,000 served offsite via programs and outreach activities. And now animals will be traveling through the tri-state area cleaner as the Zoo-on-Wheels program gets a new hybrid vehicle thanks to a $65,000 Sun Club donation.

The donation also allows the Zoo to purchase two solar-powered golf carts to provide access to every corner of the grounds for elderly and special needs visitors.
