Two-prong Donation to Install Solar on the Living Roof and Solar Education Inside

Project Overview

Dallas has a new landmark that’s sure to turn heads and expand minds. The Dallas Museum of Science and History has a new home and name after it moved from the Fairgrounds to downtown Dallas. The building is as interesting on the outside as it is inside.

Thanks to a $100,000 donation from the Sun Club, visitors are able to see first-hand how the power of the sun can be used to heat the café’s water and everything else you could want to know about solar energy. Most of the donation went towards three large solar hot water systems on the living roof, easily seen from the inside. The donation also built solar education inside the energy hall and next to the viewing area for the solar hot water heaters. The Sun Club is thrilled to work with an institution like the Perot Museum to promote solar energy to millions of visitors each year!
